Why Leave the Republican Party
The history of the Republican Party and its present 'IMAGE' today is one of unfairness, exclusion, and most of all, racism. It is "VIEWED" as the party of old rich evil white men. Whether these beliefs or images or perceptions of this party are fair or unfair, true or untrue, this is the long-time stigma that has plagued the Republican Party.
The Republicans have a reputation for being unfair to People of Color, women, and the LGBT Community. They are now being accused of voter suppression and turning back the clock on civil and voting rights laws. They elected Donald Trump as President. He is a man who is knee-deep in controversies, such as tax fraud and "wink of an eye" support for racist hate groups and white supremacist groups.
The Republican party looks almost all white when you look into the audiences that were attracted to Mr. Trump's rallies.
The Party has a very low membership of Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and Native Americans in their leadership and their supporters.
They have never offered up a Person of Color to head their ticket for the Presidential nomination. Herman Cain ran for the nomination but was quickly rejected. They have only ever presented a couple of women for the nomination or primaries. One was Geraldine Ferraro who dropped out for lack of funding and Sarah Palin for Vice-President, who seemed to not be the brightest lightbulb in the box.
Never has Republican candidates come to the so-called hood. Their un-caring, nonchalant, dismissal of lower-income Black communities is representative of just how much they think of Blacks.
As for the Republican Party, also, "What have you done for me lately" is applicable too!
Whether anyone disagrees or not with what we have just said about the Republican Party, we will say that these things are common perceptions about the Party. In this world, perception is reality. Republican messaging is weak and ineffective. They need stronger speakers and leaders. One thing they said was "Repeal and replace Obamacare." ... A smart thing to say if you actually have something much better to replace it with...a dumb thing to say if you don't...and they didn't have anything to replace it with. Utterly stupid!
Finally, what you have are two parties that are just not getting the job done. As for Blacks, one party, the Democrats, take you for granted...while the other, the Republicans, don't take you at all!
